Legends of Runeterra Custom Cards
Part of a new expansion for any card game is introducing new keywords and mechanics that can span across either 1 specific faction or all factions. The following 4 mechanics are all original concepts by me and are not in the game at the time of writing.
-
Aspire applies a buff to the next champion that is played by the player. These buffs range from simple stat buffs, to additional keywords. This was chosen as a mechanic due to the nature of Targon and its people's worship of (and desire to be a host of) the aspects.
-
Due to the nature of a large number of area of effect abilities present on Targonian champions, I wanted to introduce this keyword. Cleave applies to the enemy or ally as well as the adjacent enemies or allies. As an example: (Insert picture of Diana cleaving 3 enemies and Taric cleaving 2 adjacent allies).
-
Stalwart applies a buff to units when you are not triggering a battle phase and are instead declaring blockers. Stalwart is designed to be the opposite of Quick Attack in that sense and is focused on being more for the control deck than the aggro (though it may find use in aggro due to its benefits).
-
Trial applies a buff to units that are attacking or defending alone. A unit with trial will not receive the buff if other allies are alongside it. This ability is included as a representation of the journey to the top of Mount Targon and the difficulty that it places on the individual taking the ascent.Item description
